Event Marketing Coordinator - Tampa Bay Lightning (Tampa, FL)

Job Summary:

The Event Marketing Coordinator is responsible for marketing all concerts, events, and family shows at Amalie Arena. The Event Marketing Coordinator supports the Senior Manager of Event Marketing, works closely with the S.V.P. of Event Management and manages intern(s) ensuring tasks are completed and on time.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Create and execute marketing plans
  • Negotiate and place television, radio, and print buys for concerts and events
  • Maintain and prepare reconciliations for media placements for each show
  • Secure and schedule local media promotions for shows
  • Coordinate press conferences for shows and events where needed
  • Seek out publicity opportunities, appearances, and interviews when applicable
  • Create digital content for e-marketing with the CRM Marketing Manager
  • Create digital content for Amalie Arena social media accounts with the Social Media Manager for posting concert and event information, pre-sales, on-sales and daily posts keeping shows relevant in the market
  • Create digital content for text club, including schedule of texts and posting of information
  • Work with Ticket Office and Sales team to ensure sales for shows are on goal
  • Work with Ticketmaster to develop and schedule online and email campaigns
  • Oversee representation of concerts and events in-arena, including production of digital signage
  • Work with the Sports Marketing and Game Operations to schedule in-game promotions for concerts and events
  • Monitor ticket, restaurant, and parking sales on a daily basis and adapt marketing initiatives accordingly
  • Collaborate with Sponsorship department to obtain show sponsors and fulfill contract elements once secured
  • Handle media on show days and provide reviewers with all information needed
  • Assist with VIP parties and M&Gs at shows where necessary
  • Maintain strong relationship with media, advertising account representatives, and promoters
  • Monitor advertising expenditure and trade accounts ensuring maximum Return on Investment
  • Ensure the Amalie Arena brand and organization is represented in keeping with brand identity
  • Allocate and supervise responsibilities of Event Marketing intern
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years of marketing experience
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in accordance with deadlines
  • Experience with venue marketing, venue branding, and revenue reporting
  • Experience creating social and digital media content, as well as promotional and advertising content
  • Experience working in entertainment marketing and public relations

Lightning Made Street Team - Captain (Part-Time) - Tampa Bay Lightning (Tampa, FL)

Job Summary

The Lightning Made Street Team will consist of energetic, motivated  individuals with a positive attitude that are excited about the growth of hockey in the Tampa Bay Area. The Street Team will be a part of the Tampa Bay Lightning’s Street Lightning initiative, designed to introduce young children to the game of hockey through street hockey. The Street Team Lead will be the main contact when dealing with the event locations and will act as the head of the Street Team when full-time staff members are not present.

Responsibilities/Tasks

  • Set-up and execute street hockey clinics within the Tampa Bay Area and surrounding communities. These clinics will be held at Schools, YMCA’s, Boys and Girls Clubs, and other youth based facilities.
  • Drive equipment and members of the Lightning Made Street Team to the event.
  • Communicate with the location on-site to ensure proper set-up.
  • Lead the introductory presentation to students going over the basics of hockey.
  • Create a positive and encouraging atmosphere while teaching children the game of hockey at an introductory level.
  • Promote the Tampa Bay Lightning in a professional and respectful manner while dealing with members of the community.

Compensation/Requirements

  • Compliance with our company policy of Background Checks and Drug Screening
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must have a valid Florida Driver’s License
  • Ability to drive an extended van and/or box truck.
  • Qualified candidates must have a working knowledge of the game of hockey
  • Must be able to teach, encourage and control children ranging from 3rd to 8th grade.
  • Candidates must be high-energy, positive, team players.
  • All members of the Street Team are required to lift (25) pounds and perform some manual labor.
  • Hours are flexible; must be able to work at least 10-15 hours a week; opportunity to work up to 20-25 hours a week.
