Motion Graphics Coordinator - Tampa Bay Lightning (Tampa, FL)

RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist in the graphic animation content production for Lightning Vision Productions and internal Amalie Arena displays.  This includes all Tampa Bay Lightning and Tampa Bay Storm home games, and all sponsor and occasional third-party event requests for these services.

  • Creation, editing and production of most Lightning Vision graphic animations as directed – either as fully inclusive features and or as elements to be incorporated by other editors/producers.
    • Major focus is the design and creation of the majority of animated content intended to be showcased on the Lightning Vision center hung display, all LED system display; Video Walls; IPTV system, Plaza Projector and internal TV Channels.
    • Collaborate on the design and creation of player/team/sponsor branded images/animations for in-arena displays: player headshots, logos, interstitials, fan prompts, feature opens and elements, etc.
    • Collaborate with sponsorship on animation, messaging, graphic “look” and string of approvals for partner content.
  • Work in conjunction with Lightning Vision production staff (role TBD) to execute game day production as required/directed.
  • Additional traditional video production (videography, editing, etc.) for features, commercials and feature elements as required and time allows.
  • Assist in updating graphic file server archive 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • College education, equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree, plus a minimum of one (1) year work experience as a graphic designer/animator.
  • Must have animation creation experience.  Creative and artistic skills for design and layout.    
  • Solid knowledge and a minimum of 2 years experience with the following software:  After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, Adobe Premiere Pro (preferred) editing software.
  • Basic growth-oriented knowledge of 3-D software a plus (Cinema 4D, Maya, etc.)
  • Basic previous admin experience; intermediate skills in Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to maintain positive work relationships with co-workers,
  • managers and executives.
  • Commitment to work scheduled event days, evenings, weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Commitment to work long-hour stretches - especially during periods of heavy pre-production and
  • with short-turnaround projects.

Lightning Vision - Video Production Assistant (Part-Time) - Tampa Bay Lightning (Tampa, FL)

JOB SUMMARY

The Video Production Assistant serves as a video content producer for Lightning Vision productions - this includes all Tampa Bay Lightning and Tampa Bay Storm home games at Amalie Arena; and, all internal and occasional third-party events at Amalie Arena requiring these services.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist Video Production Manager and Staff in editing and producing of Lightning Vision video features, commercials, promotional spots, etc. as directed for in-game display and on team website
  • Assist production team by working with all internal departments on coordination/execution of all Lightning Vision deliverables
  • Perform as videographer on location for commercial and/or other company shoots as directed
  • Perform editing assemblies and packaging as directed for all internal productions and occasional third-party requirements as directed
  • Assist in maintaining video footage database/archives, logging TV broadcast highlights
  • Possible In-Game Lightning Vision Crew responsibility will be TBD by Director of Production Systems and VP, Game Presentation

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 1-2 years of recent live video and/or sports production, ENG video production, and, non-linear video editing experience – preferably for a sports team’s in house production
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, positive attitude and ability to maintain healthy relationships with co-workers, managers, and executives
  • BA/BS (or equivalent degree) in video and television production
  • Knowledge of hockey is preferred, but not necessary
  • Knowledge of Editing Programs (Adobe Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop, Audition, etc.)
  • Technical aptitude, including very good computer skills (troubleshooting abilities and a major interest in emerging video and display technologies)
  • Commitment to work scheduled event days, evenings, weekends and holidays as needed
  • Commitment to work long-hour stretches - especially during periods of heavy pre-production and with short-turnaround projects

Lightning Vision- Motion Graphics Assistant (Part-Time) - Tampa Bay Lightning (Tampa, FL)

JOB SUMMARY

The Motion Graphics Assistant will collaborate with Lightning Vision personnel to assist in fulfilling the department’s motion graphics production requests, inclusive of the execution of the event presentation/display system requirements for Tampa Bay Lightning and Tampa Bay Storm games and other Amalie Arena events.

Youth Hockey Head Coach - Guide the Thunder Program - Tampa Bay Lightning (Tampa, FL)

JOB SUMMARY

The Tampa Bay Lightning are looking for a seasonal ice hockey coach to guide and instruct a group of 33 middle school students with minimal experience how to play hockey. The hockey coach will work in conjunction with the Director of hockey whose main initiative is to design and implement practice plans for a group of students how to play hockey. It is a 31 week program that will meet every Monday for an hour of practice time and a half hour of physical training.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design and implement sequential hockey practices on ice with beginner skaters within the Tampa Bay Area.
  • Create a positive and encouraging atmosphere while teaching children the game of hockey at an introductory level.
  • Promote the Tampa Bay Lightning in a professional and respectful manner while working with members of the community.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must have a valid Florida Driver’s License
  • Qualified candidates must have a working knowledge of the game of hockey
  • Must be able to teach, encourage and control children ranging from 7th to 11th grade.
  • Candidates must be high-energy, positive, team players.
  • All members of the Lightning Made Team are required to lift (25) pounds and perform some manual labor.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Extensive experience in Hockey Development required
  • Must possess level 4 USA Hockey Coaching Certification
  • Experience successfully leading/managing a staff
  • Experience in coaching youth hockey required
  • A minimum of collegiate playing experience is preferred
  • Must be available to work on average 10 hours per week

Lightning Made Street Team - Captain (Part-Time) - Tampa Bay Lightning (Tampa, FL)

Job Summary

The Lightning Made Street Team will consist of energetic, motivated  individuals with a positive attitude that are excited about the growth of hockey in the Tampa Bay Area. The Street Team will be a part of the Tampa Bay Lightning’s Street Lightning initiative, designed to introduce young children to the game of hockey through street hockey. The Street Team Lead will be the main contact when dealing with the event locations and will act as the head of the Street Team when full-time staff members are not present.

Responsibilities/Tasks

  • Set-up and execute street hockey clinics within the Tampa Bay Area and surrounding communities. These clinics will be held at Schools, YMCA’s, Boys and Girls Clubs, and other youth based facilities.
  • Drive equipment and members of the Lightning Made Street Team to the event.
  • Communicate with the location on-site to ensure proper set-up.
  • Lead the introductory presentation to students going over the basics of hockey.
  • Create a positive and encouraging atmosphere while teaching children the game of hockey at an introductory level.
  • Promote the Tampa Bay Lightning in a professional and respectful manner while dealing with members of the community.

Compensation/Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must have a valid Florida Driver’s License
  • Ability to drive an extended van and/or box truck.
  • Qualified candidates must have a working knowledge of the game of hockey
  • Must be able to teach, encourage and control children ranging from 3rd to 8th grade.
  • Candidates must be high-energy, positive, team players.
  • All members of the Street Team are required to lift (25) pounds and perform some manual labor.
  • Hours are flexible; must be able to work at least 10-15 hours a week; opportunity to work up to 20-25 hours a week.
