Director of Digital & Social Media - Tampa Bay Lightning (Tampa, FL)

Job Summary

The Director of Digital Media is responsible for leading Digital and Social Media operations, including the Tampa Bay Lightning’s mobile application. This includes developing team members, documenting best processes and procedures, outlining the digital and social editorial and marketing priorities, leading team meetings and conducting reviews. The position carries extensive work within Network’s ad serving and campaign management platforms, as well as close coordination with other Network technical and ad-managements related groups including Engineering, Ad Production, Ad Technology, Sales Planning, and Analytics groups.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary lead for the Digital and Social team, functioning as the department’s internal and external liaison
  • Work with Network Ad Production on the setup of new placement, context, and application –based ad opportunities
  • Work with Ad Production and Ad Engineering to QA and launch unique ad executions and Rich Media, on both Network Properties, for marketing campaigns
  • Troubleshoot various technical and ad serving issues as they arise
  • Work closely with planning team and Vice President of Marketing to ensure campaign launch processes are optimized and running smoothly
  • Review and monitor campaigns within the ad server to ensure appropriate delivery and pacing
  • Provide general Brand Management campaign support
  • Build HTML, CSS and JavaScript pages based on designs of graphic designer and requests from other departments; Day-to-day examples include ticket pages, promotional and event pages, updates to existing pages
  • Post editorial content (press releases, features, images, videos, sales and promotional messages, fan poll)
  • Aid in the development of content presentation systems for website
  • Update and oversee timeliness of website content
  • Ensure “interior” site contents are current
  • Work with various departments to ensure Lightning brand/information is well represented across social media outlets
  • ­Use social media outlets to inform fans of organizational news and events, including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, and any emerging social outlets the Lightning, Arena and Tampa Bay Storm may utilize­Assist in the measurement of social media effectiveness and overall value
  • Moderate message boards for adverse content and rules violations
  • ­Work with user moderators to moderate online message board for adverse content
  • ­Monitor most frequently discussed topics
  • ­Offer suggestions to better engage, educate and build a larger community
  • Manage content on the Lightning’s mobile application and ensure accuracy
  • Develop and innovate ideas for the mobile application to sell tickets, provide content, and maximize sponsor activation
  • Utilize the application to further develop and deliver the Lightning’s brand, further engaging fans and arena guests
  • Maintain online archival material (news, history, player profiles, images, videos)
  • Participate in all podcast productions
  • ­Perform clip gathering and editing
  • Perform audio/video editing, technical direction, as needed


  • BA/ BS required
  • 6+ years of experience in Online/Digital Media with a related company, and a fluent knowledge of ad serving and management technologies (e.g. Doubleclick, Atlas, Eyewonder, Unicast, etc.)
  • Strong knowledge of common Digital Marketing techniques
  • Management experience with the ability to lead and motivate strong team of individuals
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, in particular the ability to verbalize technical concepts to senior-level audiences in a digestible format
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to maintain relationships with a varied group of individuals
  • Self-starter, with the ability to manage several projects at once, in a fast paced, ever-changing environment

Part-time Ticket Seller - Tampa Bay Lightning- Amalie Arena (Tampa, FL)

The McDonalds’s Ticket Office Ticket Seller position is responsible for providing World Class Customer Service to the guests of the Tampa Bay Times Forum. This position will ensure the guests’ ticket purchase needs are individualized by creating memories to strengthen long-term relationships.


• Greet all guests in a polite, professional and a friendly manner
• Ensure all guests needs are exceeded by offering assistance for seating selections
• Provide individualized and a consistent level of quality customer service
• Proactively anticipate all guests specific concerns regarding their purchase, directions,
arena information and schedule of all events
• Accurately organize and distribute “Will Call” tickets to guests
• Troubleshoot all ticket concerns in a prompt, courteous and professional manner
• Provide courteous and professional phone service
• Work cooperatively with all staff members
• Assist other departments as needed


• Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
• Must maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times
• Previous customer service experience preferred but not required
• Ability to learn both Ticketmaster and Archtics Ticket Systems
• Ability to stand on feet for long periods of time
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment
• Must possess cash handling abilities
• Ability to lift a maximum of 25 pounds
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends and holidays and double shifts
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
