LEARNING OBJECTIVES

  • Understand the different facets of a Web Department and Lightning Vision team
  • Knowledge and understanding of  editing

  • Knowledge and understanding of normal game day and practice day routines/duties
  • Knowledge and understanding of covering events in the community
  • Learn how to properly behave in a professional sports locker room and environment

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for editing practice and game footage, highlights, Bolts’ Today, etc.
  • Responsible for organizing and logging footage
  • Assisting with all production needs, including lighting, shooting, script writing
  • Responsible for shooting b-roll at community and Lightning initiatives
  • Assist with Lightning Vision game-day duties and in-game features
  • Work with marketing team to produce holiday features
  • Provide assistance with social media with video and pictures
  • Perform other duties, as assigned

 QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be currently enrolled in an accredited college or university
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud (Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop)
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills

  • Hockey knowledge and sports information background strongly encouraged
  • Strong team orientated person

Community Hockey Internship- 2017/2018 Tampa Bay Lightning Season - Tampa Bay Lightning (Tampa, FL)

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

  • Knowledge and understanding of event planning

  • Understanding of basic fan development techniques

  • Knowledge and understanding of fan development program formation

  • Understanding of basic guest relations techniques

  • Knowledge and understanding of database management

  • Demonstrate dependability, initiative, time-management, organization, and prioritization.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist Community Hockey Development and staff with daily activities and projects

  • Contribute to the development and coordination of Community Hockey programs in the Tampa area

  • Assist on and off ice with clinics, programs and activities

  • Create marketing plans to promote Community Hockey initiatives in the surrounding areas

  • Develop promotional ideas and events for current and potential Tampa Bay Lightning Community Hockey strategies and sponsors

  • Assist in scheduling and organizing the Tampa Bay Lightning NHL Street program

  • Assist and implement ‘Mite Intermission’ performances with local recreation teams in the area

  • Keep a comprehensive record of events and important material that cover Community Hockey events

  • Assist with booking Community hockey events, fundraisers and on-ice activities such as; winter camps, summer camps, holiday camps, clinics and mite intermissions

  • Attend and contribute to all Tampa Bay Lightning special events

  • Manage the Community Hockey Department contacts database and calendar

  • Perform all other duties and responsibilities as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be able to intern September 2017-April 2018

  • Qualified candidates must have a working knowledge of the game of hockey

  • Candidates must possess the ability to ice skate

  • The internship must be a part of the student’s curriculum and must receive credit hours that apply to student’s degree

  • Interns must work a minimum of 32 hours per week, including game nights

  • Interns must be high-energy, detail-oriented, and team players

  • Internships do not guarantee full-time positions with the Lightning upon completion

  • All interns are required to lift (25) pounds and perform some manual labor

  • Must have flexible schedule and be willing to work all Lightning home games, major events, and additional community activities, as well as, travel to local area rinks

Graphic Design Internship - Fall 2017 semester - Tampa Bay Lightning- Amalie Arena (Tampa, FL)

LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Amalie Arena is looking for a full time graphic design intern with creativity, the willingness to learn, and the ability to work well in a team environment. This position works closely with all Marketing team members and must be able to collaborate on projects, take direction, and manage workload in a timely manner. The ideal candidate would demonstrate the ability to manage multiple projects from inception to completion in a fast-paced environment. Candidate will receive hands-on learning experience on the day-to-day operations of a professional sport teams and premier venue.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design graphics for web and other marketing media.
• Design collateral (direct mail, sponsorship recaps, sales collateral, brochures, posters, etc.).
• Design website promotions, e-mail newsletters and online campaigns.
• Participate in marketing planning meetings and prepare summary of action items as required.
• Assist with department administrative functions as necessary (sending print-ready artwork to vendors, printing necessary documents).
• Meet company deadlines and deliverables on time.
• Prepare files for offset printing, digital output, and FTP file transfer.
• Work on Proof projects.
• Think conceptually, understand brand strategy, and apply to all areas of projects.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Strong visual design skills (good sense of balance, grid, color, typography, etc.).
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining strong attention to detail.
• Ability to brainstorm creative ideas in a small group setting.
• Excellent organizational, problem-solving and research skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as in collaboration with a fast-paced team environment.
• Deadline-driven with a strong sense of priority and follow-through.
• Copywriting and editing skills are a plus.
• Candidates will be required to show an online portfolio with sample projects.

This is an unpaid internship, eligible for course credit.
