Motion Graphics Internship - Spring 2017 semester - Tampa Bay Lightning (Tampa, FL)

JOB SUMMARY

The Lightning Vision Motion Graphics Intern for the 2016 - 2017 season will observe, learn from and collaborate with Lightning Vision personnel to assist in fulfilling the department’s motion graphics production requests, inclusive of the execution of the event presentation/display system requirements for Tampa Bay Lightning and Tampa Bay Storm games and other Amalie Arena events

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist and receive training from Motion Graphics Coordinators on design template projects
  • Assist in the preparation of game-day graphic elements as directed for the variety of the facility’s LED and HD displays, and, IPTV system
  • Potential to serve on game day production crew after graduation
  • Assist in the organization of files including the organization of source materials

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Current College/University Student pursuing a degree in graphic arts and/or graphic animation
  • Currently following a curriculum of art, composition, modeling and lighting/shading techniques
  • Some experience with non-linear editing systems, ideally Adobe Creative Suite 5 or 6 (Premiere, Photoshop, After Effects and Soundbooth)
  • Some knowledge of Adobe Illustrator; Encore and other 3D Graphics (such as Cinema 4D) software is a plus
  • Knowledge of NHL Hockey & Arena Football is preferred, but not required
  • Ability to assist with multiple projects simultaneously
  • Position requires flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and some late nights as dictated by game & event schedules and accompanying pre-production

Community Hockey Internship- Spring 2017 semester - Tampa Bay Lightning (Tampa, FL)

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

  • Knowledge and understanding of event planning.

  • Understanding of basic fan development techniques.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist Community Hockey Development and staff with daily activities and projects.

  • Contribute to the development and coordination of Community Hockey programs in the Tampa area.

  • Create marketing plans to promote Community Hockey initiatives in the surrounding areas.

  • Develop promotional ideas and events for current and potential Tampa Bay Lightning Community Hockey strategies and sponsors.

  • Assist in scheduling and organizing the Tampa Bay Lightning NHL Street program.

  • Assist and implement ‘Mite Intermission’ performances with local recreation teams in the area.

  • Keep a comprehensive record of events and important material that cover Community Hockey events.

  • Assist with booking Community hockey events, fundraisers and on-ice activities such as; winter camps, summer camps, holiday camps, clinics and mite intermissions.

  • Attend and contribute to all Tampa Bay Lightning special events.

  • Manage the Community Hockey Department contacts database and calendar.

  • Perform all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Qualified candidates must have a working knowledge of the game of hockey.

  • Candidates must possess the ability to ice skate.

  • The internship must be a part of the student’s curriculum and must receive credit hours that apply to student’s degree.

  • Interns must work a minimum of 32 hours per week, including game nights.

  • Interns must be high-energy, detail-oriented, and team players.

  • Internships do not guarantee full-time positions with the Lightning upon completion.

  • All interns are required to lift (25) pounds and perform some manual labor.

  • Must have flexible schedule and be willing to work all Lightning home games, major events, and additional community activities, as well as, travel to local area rinks.

ThunderBug Mascot Intern - Spring 2017 semester - Tampa Bay Lightning (Tampa, FL)

Summary

The Lightning Mascot Intern will be an integral part of our Marketing Department assisting with scheduling community appearances, marketing ThunderBug in the Tampa Bay area, and communicating information with clients.  This intern should be a highly motivated, energetic, and talented individual.   The ideal candidate would have prior experience performing as a mascot, possess excellent non-verbal communication skills, and have a creative and humorous personality.

Responsibilities:

  • Market and promote ThunderBug Appearances?
  • Assist ThunderBug at Lightning events and other community appearances?
  • Help to create and develop new revenue sources for the mascot program?
  • Help during Lightning home games

Qualifications

  •  Qualified candidates must possess superior organizational skills and be able to function in a fast-paced, multi-task setting

Responsibilities: 

  • Provide world-class customer service to Season Ticket Members and Premium Clientele

  • Manage the daily operations of the Lakewood Ranch Client Services Lounge

  • Assist the sales and service staff with Season Ticket Member benefits, giveaways, and coordinating and executing various events in conjunction with Lightning games

Social Media Intern - Spring 2017 Semester - Tampa Bay Lightning (Tampa, FL)

Description

The social media intern will provide day-to-day support for all four of the company’s brands: the Tampa Bay Lightning, Amalie Arena, the Tampa Bay Storm, and Tampa Bay Sports. This internship will offer a hands-on opportunity with all four accounts, but with primary emphasis on the arena and the Storm. Applicants should have strong communication skills, teamwork skills, as well as a willingness to explore new and out of the box ideas.  Applicants must be able to work independently as well as collaboratively within the social media and greater marketing departments. Reports to the social media coordinator.

Responsibilities

• Brainstorm new and innovative ways to present and curate content

• Assist in creating, launching, and executing company-wide and department-specific campaigns across social media

• Fulfillment of social media contests and giveaways

• Research on industry trends and how to best implement them

• Work with all areas of the company, including but not limited to public relations, creative services, sponsorship activation, and ticket sales, on how best to relay and use information

• Work all home Lightning and Storm games and specific Amalie Arena events

• Assist in specific community relations, community hockey, or promotional events

• General office duties as assigned

 Requirements

Community Relations Intern - Spring 2017 Semester - Tampa Bay Lightning (Tampa, FL)

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

  • Experience working in the Community Relations and Foundation department gaining a broader understanding of the non-profit world through sports gaining knowledge of fundraising, target-themed events, and budgeting.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Lightning Foundation events such as the Bolt Run, Glitz & Sticks, and other events as scheduled.

  • Responsible for assisting with all events the Foundation and Community Relations team is involved with including fundraising activities, publicity, and promotional efforts.

  • Schedule and attend community meetings and functions.
  • Assist with give-aways and other prize packages.
  • Work home game nights as scheduled for in-arena fundraising events/promotions.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES
The Tampa Bay Times Forum is looking for a full time graphic design intern with creativity, the willingness to learn, and the ability to work well in a team environment. This position works closely with all Marketing team members and must be able to collaborate on projects, take direction, and manage workload in a timely manner. The ideal candidate would demonstrate the ability to manage multiple projects from inception to completion in a fast-paced environment. RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design graphics for web and other marketing media.
• Design collateral (direct mail, sponsorship recaps, sales collateral, brochures, posters, etc.).

• Participate in marketing planning meetings and prepare summary of action items as required.

Event Operations Internship - Spring 2017 Semester - Tampa Bay Lightning/Amalie Arena (Tampa, FL)

Overview:

Amalie Arena is Tampa’s premier entertainment venue. Home to the National Hockey League’s Tampa Bay Lightning and the Arena Football League’s Tampa Bay Storm, the arena hosts the nation’s top musical acts, family shows, and collegiate athletic events. Students participating in our internship program will receive hands-on learning experiences on the operations of an arena that houses two professional sports teams and numerous events.

Event Operations Interns will spend the majority of the internship working with the Guest Services and Platinum Services departments, while occasionally assisting other departments during special events.  It is our intention to bring in students with a strong interest in Event Management and help them acquire the skills needed to succeed in this area. Skills acquired during this internship will include leadership, customer service, arena setup, accommodating guests with disabilities, answering guest compliments and complaints. This internship has specific game/event day responsibilities that will vary from day to day (including assisting with giveaways, building tours, game note distribution, ticket “on-sale” crowd management, etc.)
