Live Events Intern - Fall 2016 Semester - Tampa Bay Lightning (Tampa, FL)

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

  • Understand the different facets of an Event Productions Department

  • Knowledge and understanding of  working in a “hands on” live entertainment environment

  • Knowledge and understanding of production scripts, in game promotions and talent management

  • Knowledge and understanding of a booking and scheduling talent

  • Knowledge and understanding of pre-production planning and development

  • Demonstrate dependability, initiative, time-management, organization, and prioritization

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Observe, learn from and assist the Event Productions/Game Operations department in the preparation and execution of all Tampa Bay Lightning home game, Tampa Bay Storm home games, Amalie Arena events and team-related events throughout the Tampa Bay community. 

  • The preparation of production scripts, game and live elements, timelines, logistics, props, prizes, show production, plaza production, theme nights, special promotions and events, and rehearsals.

  • Attend pre-production and planning meetings.

  • Assist in scheduling and confirmation of Lightning Girls & Bolt Brigade appearances as directed.

  • Assist in keeping promo and asset items organized/delivered.

  • Assist with on-site talent at team-related events as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A winning personality

  • 1-3 semesters in a collegiate communications, production, marketing, or public relations program

  • Excellent writing, composition and public speaking skills.

  • Good knowledge of entertainment, current pop culture trends, and hockey (sports).

  • Strong computer skills.

  • Position requires flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and some late nights as dictated by the home game schedule and events.

Digital Video Intern- Fall 2016 - Tampa Bay Lightning (Tampa, FL)

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

  • Understand the different facets of a Web Department and Lightning Vision team

  • Knowledge and understanding of  editing

  • Knowledge and understanding of proper camera operation

  • Knowledge and understanding of normal game day and practice day routines/duties

  • Knowledge and understanding of covering events in the community

  • Learn how to properly behave in a professional sports locker room and environment

  • Knowledge and understanding of how to properly cover live sporting events and working in an appropriate time to get the coverage published to team site

  • Demonstrate dependability, initiative, time-management, organization and prioritization

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for editing practice and game footage, highlights, Bolts’ Today, etc.

  • Responsible for organizing and logging footage

  • Assisting with all production needs, including lighting, shooting, script writing

  • Responsible for shooting b-roll at community and Lightning initiatives

  • Assist with Lightning Vision game-day duties and in-game features

  • Work with marketing team to produce holiday features

  • Provide assistance with social media with video and pictures

  • Perform other duties, as assigned

    QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be currently enrolled in an accredited college or university

  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud (Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop)

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Hockey knowledge and sports information background strongly encouraged

  • Strong team orientated person

  • Experience in editing and camera operation

Ticket Office Intern - Fall 2016 Semester - Tampa Bay Lightning (Tampa, FL)

Responsibilities:

  • Greet guests in a polite, professional and friendly manner

  • Assist guests in selecting seating for events

  • Accurately organize and distribute Will Call tickets to guests

  • Ensure guest’s needs are met by providing accurate information regarding directions, arena information, event details, etc.

  • Obtain general knowledge of Ticketmaster/Archtics system

  • Responsible for daily ticket printing of each week’s events

  • Troubleshoot any ticketing issues

  • Able to assist in supervising part-time staff with daily Ticket Office operations

  • Personally accountable for a money bank

  • Courteous, helpful demeanor when answering phones

  • Must meet all quality standards set forth in Intern Evaluation criteria

  • All other duties as assigned

Fall 2016 Foundation/Community Relations Internship - Tampa Bay Lightning (Tampa, FL)

Full-Time Lightning Foundation/Community Relations Intern

The full-time Foundation/Community Relations intern will play a vital role in charitable programs, giving and game night activities that are hosted by the Lightning Foundation each semester. The qualified candidate will be responsible for fulfilling in-kind donations, aiding with sponsored programs, working game nights and assisting with events as planned. Full-time office work is required throughout the week as well as most home Lightning game nights.
