POSITION SUMMARY

This position values guests and is committed to providing a positive impression with World Class Service.  It is a behind the scenes position that is responsible for the repair and maintenance of all wood and other construction related products.  This position requires physical activity including standing, walking, climbing, stooping, reaching and ability to lift 50 pounds. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES                                           

  • Maintain and repair millwork in office areas, suites and food service areas.
  • Design cost estimate and build various structures from rough construction through to finish. 
  • Maintain and repair various floor surfaces including carpeting, wood, ceramic and vinyl tiles.
  • Maintain and repair various show related equipment including flooring, staging, risers, tables and chairs.
  •  Work with materials such as wood, glass, plastic, fiberglass, or drywall.
  • Utilize chisels, planes, saws, drills, and sanders to repair and erect structures. Use levels, rules, plumb bobs, framing squares, and surveying equipment to ensure everything is level and secure.
  • Replace panes of glass, ceiling tiles, and doors. Repair and install concrete pavers.
  • Install cabinets and molding, build and or repair furniture
  • Other duties as assigned

Director of Event Services - Tampa Bay Lightning (Tampa, FL)

Job Summary:

The Director will be responsible for strategic leadership and management of the event services team at Amalie Arena which include concerts, family shows, sporting events, conventions, consumer/trade shows and other related events. The Director will be responsible for business planning, budgeting, maximizing profitability, controlling expenses and overseeing the day-to-day set-up of event services while ensuring world-class service. The Director will be responsible for building strong relationships with TBSE Leadership and staff, both national and regional concert/show promoter reps and crew as well as external third party vendors.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic leadership and guidance to direct reports and event producers to elevate the service, experience and productivity of the team
  • Develop and maintains business relationships with local, regional and national concert and family show promoters, as well as other talent purveyors through networking, word-of-mouth and industry activities
  • Develop and maintains business relationships with outside vendors, stagehands, runners, etc.
  • Perform constant research and knowledge of current activities in the live entertainment industry on a local, regional and national basis
  • Develop an overall strategic plan for the Event Services Team
  • Hire and supervise full-time and part-time staff and manage their work flow
  • Responsible for ongoing coaching and development of staff and timely performance management feedback
  • Work closely with Delaware North and external partners/vendors to ensure a world-class experience for visiting shows/teams
  • Manage event expectations and assignments with all departments while coordinating day-to-day meetings, hospitality events and events/shows/games ensuring the weekly building schedule needs are met
  • Work closely and advance all event/show information (set-up sheet) and promoter/production contacts; communicate with all departments pre, during and post event
  • Provides Computer Architectural Drawing (CAD) maps and related pricing/scaling functions for the department for all events, various project layouts as well as other functions as requested
  • Provide event CAD maps and related ticket manifest based on tour specifications and act as main contact for kills and obstructions; communicate to all appropriate parties
  • Oversee the day-to-day oversight of all set-up needs for events/shows, hospitality events and meetings including but not limited to:  guest services, conversion, chair crew, stagehands, merchandise, dressing rooms, pyrotechnics, licenses, permits, insurance, phones, catering, parking, estimates, housekeeping, sales, marketing, equipment rental and runners
  • Oversee all functions from planning, advancing, load in, event operation/services and load out
  • Complete daily management reporting and final reporting as assigned
  • Work with all departments to ensure the building is clean, converted clear and ready for events/shows, hospitality events and meetings
  • Work closely with various departments to manage costs and expenses to ensure maximum profitability for all events
  • Manage and work with appropriate staff to evaluate all events, ensuring continual improvement and quality customer service; utilize survey application or similar to evaluate attendees and non-attendees, as appropriate, gathering and disseminating the results received
  • Work collaboratively with all departments developing and strengthening working relationships and building trust
  • Oversee the development and management of policies and procedures for the department
  • Serve as Manager on Duty for events as assigned
  • Complete special projects as assigned
  • Perform all other duties as deemed necessary or as directed

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree required in Sports Management, Business or related field
  • A minimum of 5-7 years experience in arena event services/production in the sports and entertainment industry
  • Strong strategic leadership skills
  • Proven record of success in event production/services; P&L ownership experience; and knowledge and experience with catering, banquet, and arena staff best practices
  • Proven leadership experience as a manager of full-time staff
  • Experience hiring, training and development of staff
  • Experience working in a capacity where you have no direct management responsibility for functions and work closely in a collaborative way to influence these areas
  • Proven successful track record in all areas of entertainment production/event services (concerts, sporting events, specialty events, and ice events)
  • Excellent ability to establish rapport with others and the ability to build strong interpersonal relationships
  • Exceptional relationship-building skills demonstrated with the ability to develop and maintain positive long-term relationships with agents, managers, promoters, and talent
  • Demonstrated experience leading multiple large events
  • Demonstrated experience with local, regional, and national event promoters
  • Ability to think creatively and communicate clearly in a professional manner both verbally and written
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to perform research and identify trends regarding entertainment events and hospitality related topics
  • Exhibit good judgment and make sound decisions
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and work well under pressure with attention to detail

  • Proven experience with CAD is required

  • Maintain a comprehensive preventative maintenance program in the areas of pipe work systems, back flow preventers, cartridge changes, grease traps etc.
  • Trouble shoot and repair a variety of plumbing issues, including toilets, urinals, flush controls
  • Some new install of pipe work and fixtures
  • Assist, as required, other skilled trades in a variety of maintenance repairs

JOB SUMMARY

  • Maintain and repair various components of climate control systems including motors, cooling and heating coils, heat pumps, hot water systems.
  • Program, monitor and schedule the cycling of climate control systems through a complex DDC processor for the most economical level of operation.
  • Test and treat via chemical alteration all open and closed looped climate control energy systems, including the treatment of cooling towers.
  • Maintenance and repair of centrifugal chillers and boilers including monitoring energy management procedures.
  • Maintain and repair ice-making equipment, refrigeration equipment and appliances.

JOB SUMMARY:

Conversion Technicians are responsible for the set-up, tear down, and movement of every item necessary to make every event a World Class success.  Conversion tech positions require physical activity including standing, walking, stooping, reaching, climbing stairs, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

The Parking Attendant provides parking support for all University of South Florida Sun Dome parking lots, including guest parking and employee parking.  This position is responsible for the safety of vehicles as well as for collecting payment from guests using Sun Dome parking lots.

The Event Security team provides facility security for all events at the University of South Florida Sun Dome and is responsible for the protection and safeguarding of guests and employees by monitoring and enforcing all safety policies and procedures as outlined by TBEP.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Guest Services position acts as a resource and host to guests visiting the Sun Dome by maintaining a working knowledge of our facility and special events. They serve as the main point of contact for all guest requests/needs and then pursue the issue to a resolution. The members of the Guest Services staff must exhibit courteous hospitality at all times and be proactive in every area. A very high level of customer service aptitude is essential for this position. Upon hire, all employees will be expected to be available for no less than 70% of all events.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide all guests a positive first impression by offering World Class Service
  • Search guests’ bags at entry gates in a prompt, friendly manner
  • Scan Tickets at entry points
  • Assist guests with elevators/escalator services, including ADA elevators

  • Enforce all building policies and procedures during an event to assure safety and security for all
  • Work cooperatively with all staff members
  • Respond to and investigate incidents/inquire with witnesses on scene
